Spiral Staircases & Stringers

Architectural exposure quality spiraling of tube steel, channel, plate and pipe to amazingly tight radii and steep pitches.
Albina is pleased to announce new and improved spiraling capabilities!

We are now able to bend tube steel, channel, pipe and flat bar for circular stair components. Our processes allow us to bend these materials to amazingly tight radii with minimal distortion.
Some materials already produced:
- TS 16" x 4" x 1/2" wall at a 10' Plan Radius with a 7-5/8" in 12" pitch
- TS 12" x 4" x 3/8" wall at a 5'4" Plan Radius with a 7-1/2" in 12" pitch
- C15 x 42.7# at a 4' Plan Radius with a 7" in 11" pitch
- TS 8" x 8" x 3/8" wall at a 7' Plan Radius with a 7-1/4" in 12" pitch
The graphic (to the right) shows the typical details of spiral circular stair component. These two views represent the clearest way to illustrate and interpret these types of bends.
The following minimum factors are require to process spiral/circular stair components:
- Radius in plan view,
- Degree of arc in plan view of spiral section only.
- Overall rise of spiral section only,
- Degree of pitch, and
- Direction of rotation, interpreted as clockwise or counterclockwise up.
These specified minimum factors can be represented in other ways, but must be able to be calculated from other dimensions if not specifically given.
Capacities are always changing!
