Albina Pipe Bending, located outside Portland, Oregon, has been providing customers with innovative, quality products since 1939. Albina has an impeccable reputation in the bending and fabrication industry, for producing difficult and unusual parts. In addition to pipe and tubing, Albina works with all forms of structural steel (e.g. angle, wide flange and I-beams, channels, square and rectangular tubing, and bars), as well as virtually any other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Albina has proven to be capable of supplying unique, quality products to a wide range of industries including structural steel fabricators, public works contractors, pulp and paper mills, truck manufacturers, architectural designers, sculptors, shipbuilders and many others.

Our products include heat exchangers, coils, boiler tubes, chip lines, formed structural supports and framing, institutional barriers and fencing, art work and sculpture, playground equipment, medical and dental equipment. We can and do produce virtually any other metal component that needs to bend or curve without the use of pre-formed fittings. In addition, we are a stocking distributor for specialized ventilation and dust collection system components which enables us to supplement the products and services we are able to furnish our customers on a "one stop shopping" basis.

Bill Smith, the current CEO and son of former owner John Smith, started his career with Albina in 1965. Having the opportunity to work in the shop for a number of years gained him a greater appreciation for, and knowledge of, the products produced at Albina. In 1998, Bill's son Brian joined the company becoming its full time CFO, and represents the third generation in this well established family owned business.

Albina Pipe Bending's Philosophy

From its inception, Albina Pipe Bending has striven to establish a diverse customer base. As a result, we serve customers with large volume orders and "walk-ins" looking for just one piece of work at a time. Regardless of the size of the order we always endeavor to meet our customers' needs by providing on time, quality products at reasonable prices. By satisfying customer requirements, we provide the means to ensure stable employment and a steady income for all of our employees and their families.

Albina Pipe Bending spends a considerable amount of time on Research and Development creating procedures that accommodate the customer's ever changing needs. In an effort to produce higher quality products, we constantly look to improve or purchase machinery that produce unusual, non-conforming products without spending our customer's money. Every piece of bending equipment that Albina owns has been engineered and upgraded to perform beyond known industry specifications. In fact, the second piece of equipment we owned was built using mechanical gears and the transmission of an old Model-T. That machine is still in use today. Innovative thinking, coupled with research and development, has presented Albina Pipe Bending with many opportunities.

Management emphasizes not only research and development, but machine upkeep as well. To stay on top of unforeseen circumstances (like machinery break down), we have established an intense, routine maintenance program. This has helped to increase the productive life of key equipment.
